I saw this UK buzz band We Have Band play in the sweaty basement of the Delancey last week before they headed down to Austin and really enjoyed them a lot. The crowd that night was pretty much ALL british people, who liked to dance, which certainly helped things. But their songs are fun, and they have a great party vibe. Does this mean I can't start a band called "WE CAN HAZ BAND?"
I'm not going to Austin this year for a couple reasons, but mostly because I'm moving at the end of the month and my life is kinda insane right now. Nevertheless, we at After The Jump have got your party needs covered with two AWESOME SXSW bills. Drink some sparks for me (they still have it there!).
I have always admired everything that Elhaam does as an awesome nightlife promoter and DJ on EVR, so imagine how excited I was when she approached me to guest DJ on her weekly show EVR show Guilty Pleasures. SO EXCITED! I made this face: That's right kids, I'm going to back on the internet airwaves for the first time since the end of our dearly departed Blog Show.
You can tune in tonight from 8-10 to hear the show LIVE (I will be on starting at 8:30). But no, I will not be playing the theme song from Ghostbusters. I save that kind of thing for Spicy Times parties.
MP3s are posted for sampling purposes ONLY. I do not post entire albums and STRONGLY ENCOURAGE everyone who reads this blog to pursue the bands you discover here and fall as madly in love with them as I am. That being said, if any label/company/whathaveyou would like any of the files here to be removed, PLEASE email me and I will personally do so myself without haste. Thanks!
