I had so much fun DJing at the Crackers United Katrina benefit last month that I was thrilled to have the chance to DJ for them again at their new monthly showcase at Rothko. This month's line up is pretty awesome too, I have to say. I have had The Walk-Up's ep on constant iTunes repeat since their sold out release party @ Fat Baby last week. And though I haven't yet seen Aeroplane Pageant, their manager brings me gum and sandwiches (heavy on the onion) at my desk even though I (sort of) ignored his very nice email to me months ago (sorry!). Furthermore, they have a really nice EP out on Inner Flight Records that I like very much.
All in all, this should be a really great show. Please come!

Last night's Snowden show @ Fat Baby was a last minute (we're talking about four days) round of complete awesomeness. I have loved this band since the first time they ever played New York at the (awful, dank, gross basement of) Siberia in midtown over a year ago. Truth be told, the band has gone through a complete metamorphosis since back then, and last night they sounded fabulous and tighter than ever. AND they brought back a revamped "Victim Card" much to my delight. Yay Snowden, please come back soon.
The iOs also COMPLETELY blew me away with their happy boy meets girl pop songs that are perfectly 1995 in many excellent ways. The band just signed to Kanine, which is so exciting for them, and they are putting out an album soon. YAY.
The iOs - Every Waking Moment
Two other songs here.
And finally, PS... oh how I have missed you. The band has been whittled down to Patrick and the lovely Ursula, but together they present PS's songs in such a pure and startlingly gorgeous way that no one should count this band as out of the game -- not even close.
Well despite a week of... not a whole lot, hopefully this post will tide you over and forgive me for the lack of attention I've paid to this blog lately. Sometimes living the music takes time away from writing about it, but I like to share so stay tuned would ya?
Oh and I'm djing at The Skinny on Saturday. After party for the Saints and Lovers show @ Sin-e with The Picture and Bravo Silva -- could not recommend that you go to that show more.
I'll be on the decks at 174 Orchard from 10 til... whenever. Come say hi, and have a fantastic weekend.
