2009/02/25 the dig. dig it? last night i went to bowery ballroom to see up and coming local band The Dig open for Mystery Jets. i had heard some rumblings about them from friends in the industry, and after last night i think i can understand why they are starting to generate a good deal of buzz. all in all their music is pretty straightforward rock with some really strong hooks here and there, and they are all young and cute enough to be make-out worthy (hooray!). But beyond the obvious selling points, I think this band has a LOT of potential and talent and could grow into something pretty fucking awesome. I've had their three track ep on repeat all morning long and now totally want to listen to more. ALSO: the band recently opened for Girl Talk, are heading out on tour (dates below),and their website has a sweet pink robot on it.
